Founded by Donna Groothousen, Doodle Dog Hill began as a mission-driven business — blending a love for doodles with a passion for giving back. Donna, an adoption coordinator and mother to five beautiful children she adopted into her chosen family, raised these puppies by the calming shores of Lake Superior in Bayfield, WI. Her family’s experience with doodles, especially their beloved Labradoodle – Milo, inspired a journey that touched countless lives — both canine and human. Proceeds supported outreach efforts in Liberia, West Africa, including micro-lending, education, and medical support.

Today, Doodle Dog Hill enters an exciting new chapter under the loving care of Brian and Tracie Barber. Lifelong dog lovers with years of experience raising and caring for animals, Brian and Tracie bring not only expertise, but a genuine heart for every puppy and family they work with. Their background includes years of working with various dog breeds, understanding puppy behavior, and creating nurturing environments that promote health, confidence, and strong bonds.

They are committed to continuing Doodle Dog Hill’s legacy of excellence — focusing on health-tested parents, early socialization, and lifelong support for new puppy families. Whether it’s answering questions, helping you prepare your home, or coordinating nationwide delivery with a trusted puppy nanny, their goal is to make every step of your adoption journey smooth, joyful, and full of love.
